Next Generation: TJ Ellis, Paralegal Student at MTS Paralegal Services P.C.

In 2013, Tim Ellis founded MTS Paralegal Services P.C. with a straightforward goal: give everyday Ontarians access to quality legal representation without the price tag of a law firm. No inflated hourly rates. No unnecessary delays. Just experienced, no-nonsense advocacy for clients who needed someone in their corner.

Tim did not walk into Small Claims Court as a rookie. He brought with him years of legal experience built in personal injury law and collections work, giving MTS Paralegal Services P.C. a foundation most new firms never have. Over the years since, that foundation has grown into one of the most trusted paralegal practices in Southwestern Ontario.

And now, it is becoming a family business.

Introducing TJ Ellis, Paralegal Student and Legal Assistant

TJ Ellis, son of MTS Paralegal Services P.C. founder Tim Ellis, has joined the firm as a Legal Assistant while completing his paralegal studies. He is approximately two years from earning his licence through the Law Society of Ontario. In the meantime, he is gaining something that no classroom can fully replicate: direct, hands-on mentorship inside a working paralegal firm led by his father.

Every day, TJ is involved in real files. He manages client communications, supports document preparation, assists with case research, and coordinates the administrative side of an active legal practice. He sees what it takes to represent someone properly, and what it costs a client when their case is not prepared well.

“A judgment is only as good as the paper it is written on unless you can enforce it,” Tim has always said. TJ is learning exactly what that means.

Why This Matters for Clients

When a client retains MTS Paralegal Services P.C. today, they are not just getting Tim Ellis. They are getting a firm with depth: a team that includes Cesar, newly licensed by the Law Society of Ontario in 2026, TJ working directly on files, and Tim overseeing strategy and courtroom representation on every matter.

For clients navigating the stress of a legal dispute, that depth matters. Files move faster, calls get returned, and no detail falls through the cracks.

Small Claims Court in Ontario: Up to $50,000

Small Claims Court is the heartbeat of MTS Paralegal Services P.C., and for good reason. In Ontario, Small Claims Court handles civil disputes up to $50,000. That is a significant amount of money, and the outcome of those cases has real consequences for individuals, landlords, tenants, and small businesses.

Tim has spent years mastering this process, from filing the claim through to enforcing the judgment. He knows the procedural rules, the negotiation dynamics, and the arguments that land with deputy judges. That expertise is now something TJ is absorbing in real time, on real cases.

Whether you are trying to collect an unpaid debt, recover damages from defective work, or defend against a claim you believe is unfounded, experience in that courtroom is everything.

A Firm Built on Experience, Evolving Into a Legacy

What makes MTS Paralegal Services P.C. different is not just Tim’s track record. It is the culture he has built. The firm returns calls within one business day. Tim will tell you honestly if your case has weaknesses. He will not push a matter forward just to bill hours.

That culture is being passed directly to TJ. The next generation of MTS Paralegal Services P.C. is not being built by hiring strangers from a job board. It is being built by someone who grew up watching what this firm stands for.

When TJ finishes his paralegal program and earns his licence, MTS Paralegal Services P.C. will have two fully licensed paralegals on staff alongside Tim. That is a level of capacity and continuity that very few paralegal firms in the Kitchener-Waterloo region can match.
